Losing my temper

I know, you catch more flies with honey and all of that, HOWEVER, I have been pushed beyond my breaking point and I finally lost my temper this morning with the 'customer service' tech from Ford. Basically, I was asking about filing a claim for reimbursement for hotels and such, and the woman said that they MIGHT consider payment for the time following when we were towed to Las Vegas, but because when, on the side of the road, at dusk, in the desert, with my children, I called my insurance company's roadside assistance instead of Ford, they would likely not cover that time frame, from the beginning of our breakdown, until the day they towed us to Vegas (6 days). Really?

Way to line up a "reason" for rejecting our claim. I see the process going forward to be a long, labored one, with the need to fight for every claim we make.

On the other hand, they have located a catalytic converter, and it is being shipped via FedEx today, which means, best case it will arrive Friday, and maybe, best case again, be installed that day. The service department does work Saturdays, so hopefully we aren't facing an entire weekend stuck here, but my optimism is fading to be honest.

  1. I hope you can talk with someone higher up than a tech and get that person to go to bat for you. Maybe your dealer and/or someone at the dealership that is fixing your vehicle could recommend someone to speak with. When Frank was being given the runaround by Dodge on his truck, a guy at the local dealer told him someone he had dealt with there. He (the local dealership guy) also called and spoke with that person on Frank's behalf. It worked nicely and I am sure saved a whole lot of aggravation.

Don't let them get to you, if you can help it. You will only end up with high blood pressure and a nasty headache. Just keep on plugging along until you get what you deserve. I am very confident that you are smarter than any of them! Good luck!
