Square two

I won't say that we are back at square one, but we are certainly at square two. We are located about 1/4 of a mile from where we parked the last time we were at Nellis AFB, with a heater that still works only intermittently and jacks that are all jacked up. Additionally, somewhere along the process of fixing the engine, one of the jack plates got bent.

Front Jack, not good

Back jack, what it is supposed to look like

But I guess this is just MY problem now. )sigh(

I have called all of the authorized service people here in the Vegas area and nobody can get us in to get the jacks looked at or the heater fixed for nearly a month (and some were not willing to work on vehicles that they did not sell). I have called OUR dealer who can get us in March 27th.  Next, I'll be calling Thor back and telling them that they need to find someone who can get these issues fixed. I'm so done with this. I wonder what other damage was done.

I called big Ford and they said it is a dealer issue. I called the dealer, and he asked whether the tech noticed it when he was working on it. Since it is RIGHT where the engine comes out from underneath, he noticed it. He told my buddy John, who is now in hospital, who didn't have a chance to pass down that information me or to Nathan, my second contact at Transwest Ford.

I called big Ford back, and they have forwarded the issue to corporate to start the claims process against the tow truck company.  I foresee yet another nightmare here with getting THIS fixed properly. I'm seeing this in our future: the tow truck that picked us up when we broke down (contracted through Progressive) didn't do it, Ford in Kingman didn't do it, the tow truck that took the RV from Kingman to Vegas (contracted through Ford) didn't do it (happens to be the same guy/truck), and Ford in Vegas didn't do it. Nobody did it and it was no one's fault. SMH

Because I always like to do my legwork in advance, I also called my buddy Charles, back at Ford in Kingman to find out if HIS tech noticed anything when he was working on it (trying to determine which tow produced the damage). The fact of the matter is, the tow truck driver was the same guy, same truck both times, but because he was contracted through two different agencies (once through Progressive and once through Ford), I have a feeling calling Progressive that night is going to come back to haunt me.

My dream trip is seriously turning into a nightmare and I am starting to have doubts and regrets, which are new. Even when everyone else thought I was insane to do this or consider this, I always felt confident that whatever happened, we'd have a heck of a ride. Now... I don't know. I am disappointed in Thor, in Ford, and in everyone associated with this piece of garbage to which I have entrusted the next year of my life, and that of my children.
